INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2024, international exhibition of photography, painting, video
art, installation/sculpture and performance art, on August 30, 2024, at 06:00 PM at Medina
Art Gallery, in Rome. The exhibition will run until September 12, 2024.
The event will be further enriched by the opening of “Venus in Fur: An Ode to Mosadi”, a
solo exhibition by Studio Taki, curated by Luca Curci, that will open on September 06,
2024, at 06:00 PM at Medina Art Gallery in Rome and will run until September 12, 2024.
The solo exhibition represents a culmination of four years of Studio Taki's artistic
exploration: a body of work celebrating iconic African women who have profoundly
impacted modern societies and advanced humanity, a testament to the fusion of identity
and space, echoing the core themes of the fair.
ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2024 analyzes the relationship between body and
space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings
in contemporary times, through two main sections: MIXING IDENTITIES and FUTURE
LANDSCAPES.
MIXING IDENTITIES analyzes the hidden parts of our identities, through an immersive
experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness.
The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to
perceive the surrounding reality; a strong communication system with its own language
and infinite ways of expression.
FUTURE LANDSCAPES are abstract, infinite and conceptual, associated with a sense of
freedom and infinite extension. Primarily experienced with the mind, spaces redefine their
limits and borders, transforming surfaces in an open flow of pure ideas. This section
focuses on the concept of the borders and the structures between body, mind and soul,
the human identity and the city, the space and the ground.
The MIXING IDENTITIES section immerses viewers in the labyrinth of human
consciousness, where the body interacts with and influences its environment: Sandra
Ansaldi, from Italy, explores this transformation through her “Graffiti Bidet,”
recontextualizing everyday objects to challenge cultural symbols and highlight new
interpretations of identity. Inspired by the cultural shift she experienced after moving from
Italy to France, Sandra transformed the iconic Italian bidet into an Apero table, fusing two
sacred symbols from different cultures. Her art is infused with humor, wordplay, and irony,
celebrating and critiquing cultural norms, one bidet at a time.

Furthering the research on cultural symbols, Rolf Frischherz's sculpture focuses on the
individual’s potential for growth within the context of interpersonal relationships: his work
explores themes of connection, transformation, and the delicate dynamics of human
intimacy utilizing 3D printing technology, meticulously hand-finished with gold leaf,
capturing the timeless motif of two intertwined bodies in a moment of tender embrace.
Frischherz's abstract visual language distills the form to its essence, highlighting the
profound simplicity of human connection.
The human body, portrayed as a dynamic system in constant flux, serves as a bridge
linking us to the world surrounding us; this is the case of "Swimmer" by Besma Ftouhi.
Influenced by the diverse cultures of Dubai and Lisbon, her artistic journey is characterized
by constant exploration and evolution across a variety of mediums - including traditional
art, digital art, and photography - her pieces reflect a boundless curiosity for new forms of
expression. Her art serves both as a personal journey and an invitation for others to
connect on a deeper level, capturing the essence of movement and transformation that
defines her creative process, fostering connections and turning introspection into a
universal experience.
Midway between both thematic, some of the artists involved uniquely link the exploration of
personal and collective identity with the abstraction of spatial concepts, offering profound
insights that resonate with MIXING IDENTITIES and FUTURE LANDSCAPES. Among
them, the English photographer Stephen Sunnucks, who explores this convergence
through his “Untold Stories, Revealed Emotions” series: his evocative photography
captures raw, honest moments that delve into hidden emotions and untold narratives,
revealing these layers of human experience, his work addresses themes of identity while
also engaging with the conceptual space of introspection and freedom. Reflecting both the
fluidity of personal identity and the boundless exploration of conceptual space, Nada
Kelemenová's paintings contribute to both themes too, blending colors and forms and
offering a nuanced perspective on how identity and space intertwine. Kelemenová's art is
an ongoing experiment, reflecting her love for the natural world and her desire to capture
its essence in abstract forms; through her work, she aims to share the joy and serenity
found in the act of creation.
Situated in one of the city's most vibrant areas, Medina Art Gallery provides an exceptional
setting for the Rome International Art Fair 2024, as a dynamic hub where artistic visions
converge. Its strategic location in the historic Monti district, with its rich tapestry of culture
and history, offers a unique backdrop for showcasing contemporary art, fostering the
perfect atmosphere to enhance reflection and dialogue. Immersed in this setting, Karl
Pont's photographic series “Children of the Wind” explores the ephemeral connections
between bodies and natural spaces, offering a vision of movement that transcends
traditional boundaries.

Through his work, he aims to reveal the extraordinary within the ordinary, evoking
emotions and transcending boundaries, merging the mythical, spiritual,
and cultural into a harmonious expression of life’s vastness and freedom.
Redefining spatial limits and engaging with the relationship between body, mind, and
environment, Vanja Pandurevic's work explores the intersection of photography,
architecture, and sustainability, crafting visual narratives that challenge perceptions of
identity and space. The artist reveals the dynamic interplay between cultural resilience and
environmental innovation by transforming complex spatial realities into two-dimensional
art, inviting viewers to explore evolving landscapes of self and society: through her lens,
Pandurevic champions sustainable urban development and cultural preservation, offering
a nuanced perspective on the interconnectedness of the human experience. Dieter Kunz's
art, delving into the relationship between space and human experience too, reflects the
diverse experiences that shape his vision, capturing the transient beauty encountered
during his travels, using photography to document the interplay of light, water, and
reflection. Each image in the series serves as a meditation on movement and stillness,
offering viewers a moment frozen in time and a glimpse into the world through Kunz's lens.
